
About the Director
LaKeisha Johnson is a 2015 Community Studies and Civic Engagement graduate of the University of Baltimore. She has been dancing since age 2, beginning at a local Police Athletic League (PAL) Center in Northeast Baltimore. In 1999, she began training at Baltimore Dance Tech., under the direction of Ms. Stephanie Powell. Over the ten year span with being at this company, Ms. LaKeisha grew more engrossed with dance and became more in touched with her inner voice.
Ms. LaKeisha has always been a scholar throughout school, often being apart of many extracurricular activities. She studied dance after school at The Baltimore School for the Arts T.W.I.G.S. program, studied science and exploration with the MESA program, traveled to India in High School with the Oprah Ambassadors program, was a great debater and traveled to Harvard, Rutgers, and Emory Universities for invitational debates, was invited to study at Yale University for the 2007 Junior Statesmen of America Program, and a host of other programs.
Ms. Johnson loves teaching and assisting younger generations to learn how to dream. This is one of the main goals behind starting Fearless Dance Empire.
